Common Smeg Repair Issues
The FAB refrigerators are single-door units with a freezer compartment inside the fresh-food space, so the repairs we see are a thermostat that lets the box warm or freeze, a door gasket that no longer seals the curved door, frost building up in the small freezer, and a compressor start relay. We test the thermostat, relay and fan first and tell you before any work starts if the diagnosis points to the sealed system. See refrigerator not cooling and refrigerator too cold.
Smeg ranges and wall ovens use electronic controls with a temperature probe and, on gas models, electrode ignition for every burner and the oven. An oven that runs hot or cold, a burner that clicks without lighting or keeps sparking after it is lit, and a convection fan that has gone quiet are the common calls. See oven temperature inaccurate and oven burner not working.
Smeg dishwashers stop most often for a drain pump blocked by glass or a label, a float switch that reads an overfill, or a door latch and control that will not start the cycle. See dishwasher not draining and dishwasher not starting.
Smeg washers and dryers follow the European front-load pattern: a door lock that will not release, a drain pump stopped by a coin, and on the dryers a heater, thermostat or condenser problem. See washer not draining and dryer not heating.
